Customers consistently praise the impeccable service and attention to detail that The Bank Newry provides. Lisa Mcelroy recounts a remarkable Sunday lunch celebration with her family, noting the first-class service and exceptional food, highlighting how the staff, especially a server named Santos, went above and beyond to cater to their large group. Dawn Ashley raves about the chicken fillet burgers, describing them as the best she and her husband have ever tasted — an impressive endorsement from a discerning palate. Shane Kelly’s account of a gluten-free meal speaks to the restaurant’s commitment to accommodating dietary needs without compromising flavor or experience.
Even minor critiques, like the mention of slightly wilted lettuce, are overshadowed by the overwhelming satisfaction felt by diners who find the atmosphere animated yet welcoming, and the staff attentive and genuinely caring. The desserts, particularly the Apple Crumble and Sticky Toffee Pudding, are a decadent finish, often described as “unreal” by guests lingering over sweet notes that linger long after the last bite.

Its combination of hearty, lovingly prepared meals, vibrant drink selection, and attentive service make it a must-visit destination that enriches Newry’s dining and nightlife scene.
Today as a family of 16, we celebrated my mums birthday with Sunday lunch. The service was first class. All our needs were met, the staff went above and beyond to provide an excellent service. The food was amazing and to a very high standard. Our main server Santos excelled in looking after our large party with great attention to detail. I highly recommend the Bank Bar and Restaurant, it really was a wonderful experience that our family rate very highly.
Can not recommend this place enough. To say the food was amazing is an understatement. Ordered two chicken fillet burgers (me & hubby) onion rings and kids goujons and chips. Also desert of apple crumble and sticky toffee pudding. Holy god they were unreal, all of it, tasted amazing. Husband said best chicken burger ever eaten and thats saying a lot he is very picky. The deserts while we were already in a food coma from the generous portions of the mains, we just had to try. They did not disappoint, so gorgeous, hot apple crumble with vanilla icecream and vanilla custard and fresh berries on the side. The sticky toffee pudding was equally amazing very large portion served with vanilla icecream in a river of toffee sauce and also fresh berries on the side (not soggy have rotten ones) Have to also mention the service, top quality, young lad (blonde with a bun) couldn't be more helpful or friendly, excellent customer service. Others checked on us and cleared tables but he was the good one, good customer service is what also makes a meal. So ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ from me, look forward to going back thats for sure.
We had a lovely meal. I had gluten free soup and a roll to start followed by pork belly with champ. My wife had a sizzling dish which she said was delicious. Great service and atmosphere.
The food was delicious but a small thing the lettuce in the side salad was not fresh and was willted but other then that it was delicious the atmosphere was amazing and the staff couldn't be any more attentive
Always a good experience. Good food, great service. Went in for a cocktail and wasn't disappointed.
Wow The food was amazing! The mussels in the garlic sauce. My whole family enjoyed it alot. Everyone enjoyed there meals we was swap meals so impressed and enjoyed the different tastes and textures. The waiters and waitresses was nice.
Good food portions and menu range, fish was a bit too greasy and soft drinks were from tiny bottles instead of a bar dispenser. Plenty of room inside and staff were friendly.
